Buying guide

Notch size follows tile size: small V-notches for mosaics and wall tile, larger square notches such as 1/4 x 3/8 in. or 1/2 x 1/2 in. as the tile grows. The mortar bag gives its own recommendation.
Comb the mortar in straight lines in one direction, and back-butter large tiles so they bed fully.
Pack grout with a rubber float held at an angle, working across the joints. Choose the mortar and grout in tile mortar and grout.
